HSX5020U Communication Server
Application Scope
The HSX5020U Communication Server is a new type of integrated management unit for substation automation information, applicable to substation automation systems of various voltage levels, scales and functional requirements, as well as related power communication projects.
The HSX5020U Communication Server can serve as a communication management server in substations, a communication protocol conversion device for intelligent devices in substations, or a slave station in protection management systems to access protection devices in substations and complete the information collection and management of protection devices in substations. It includes 2 Ethernet ports, 2 CAN ports, 4 ports that can be selected as RS485 or RS232 ports through hardware, 1 dispatching RS232 port, 2 dispatching audio analog signal ports, 2 MODEM ports, and 2 RS485 ports.

Protocol Conversion |
Converts other communication protocols to the 103 protocol supported by the background to meet the communication requirements of the integrated automation system. It supports access via different communication methods such as RS232, RS485, CAN network and Ethernet. |
Check CRC Code |
There are two ways to view the HSX5020U check code: 1) View the HSX5020 check code in the background setting value 31. 2) Go to Main Menu > Version Information to view the HSX5020U model, program version number and check code. |

Audio Drive |
When a protection action or alarm event occurs in the substation, it will immediately drive the accident or alarm audio (electric bell or electric horn). HSX5020U itself has output contacts for accident audio and alarm audio drive. After being driven, it can be manually reset, automatically reset with a 15-second delay, or reset with the reset button on the background. When multiple events occur successively, the last event will be delayed for 15 seconds. |
Monitor Serial Port Data |
There are two methods to view serial port data: 1) The monitoring software CoolNets can be used to monitor its serial port data. 2) HSX5020U can monitor it directly on the color screen. |

Remote Dispatching Transmission |
HSX5020U uploads telemetry, remote signals and SOE of communication devices to the superior dispatching through CDT, 101 or 104 protocols. Supported devices include CAN network devices, serial port devices, and Ethernet devices. |
View Event Records |
There are two ways to view event records: 1) View from the background call records. 2) Go to Main Menu → Event Records to view. |

GPS Time Synchronization |
HSX5020U can be connected to GPS and synchronize time with the background through UDP packets. |
